New system alpha group test this evening at 8pm PST

Greetings Xulu testers,

We have the new system up, and while still very fragile, we are ready to try some group testing starting this evening at 8pm.

We ask that you come spend a full hour in the system trying out different things. If you encounter problems and/or crashes, please send emails describing what happened and log files immediately to support@xulu.com. We’ll send a survey to everyone who participates to qualify for a $10 reward.

Please watch for on-screen announcements as we may ask you to try out some specific things.

A few other things:

The badge system is now implemented ... we haven’t assigned all badge types yet, so you may not see ones you’ve already earned. They’ll come next, but those who have spent a lot of time in the system should see a Citizen badge, and those will multiple friends a Friendship badge.

Also we’ve added a new control icon visible on the bottom right of your screen when you are in a rover (it looks like a vehicle/suitcase). It allows you to lock your weapon or adjust its movement if you’re controlling it. You can also use this icon to set your car in auto-reverse.

We will be curtailing paid testing soon, with occasional exceptions, as we open things up to bigger audiences. We hope we can entice you to stay involved by building off the significant feedback you’ve provided to deliver an increasingly fun experience. We also do need some people to serve as in-world guides; please let us know if you’re interested.
