To bring up the Controls Mappings dialog, click on the controls icon 
located on the right side of the screen.
Alternatively, you can press the ‘Esc’ key to bring up the main menu and then select “Controls.”
This dialog lists the various actions you can perform with your current vehicle and the control that is assigned to each of these actions. To change the control for an action, you start by double clicking on the control you want to change. This will bring up the message you see in the image on the right. Note that while we do support the keyboard, mouse, and controllers, not every action can be mapped to every control. For instance, greetings cannot be mapped to mouse movement. If at any point you want to clear all of your changes, click on the “Defaults” button to restore the default controls. Once you are finished adjusting your controls, click on the “OK” or “Apply” buttons to apply the changes.
Vehicle Preferences
To bring up the Vehicle Preferences dialog, click on the icon on the right side of the screen that has an image of a toolbox 
. Note that this icon is only present when you are controlling a vehicle and only if the vehicle you are controlling has options you can set.
Auto-Reverse
This option allows you switch to auto-reverse mode. Auto-reverse mode allows you to go forward or backward without having to manually switch gears. Simply use the accelerate control to go forward and the brake control to slow down then move backward. This mode is good for beginners.
Automatic Transmission
This option allows you to switch to automatic transmission. Automatic transmission (the default for the racecar) behaves exactly the same as driving a real world vehicle with automatic transmission. To go forward, you must put the vehicle in drive then press the accelerator. To go backward, you must put the vehicle in reverse then press the accelerator.
Manual Transmission
This option allows you to switch to manual transmission. Manual transmission behaves exactly the same as a real world vehicle with manual transmission. You must manually shift between gears.
